Our Story

Pigeon Expresso™ derives its name from the Pigeon Express™ Photography service at Rocky Mountain Adventures, Inc.  Using specially designed backpacks, the RMA pigeons fly images of whitewater rafters from the Cache la Poudre River to the company’s outpost near Fort Collins, Colorado.  Once the birds return to their loft, the images are processed so rafters can view pictures of their adventure.  The name Pigeon Expresso™ was just too good to pass up.

In order to continue traditions that follow our uniquely Colorado style, we purchase from our suppliers only the best mountain-grown, 100% Arabica premium gourmet coffee.  Our coffee is USDA certified organic and is custom roasted in the Colorado Rockies at 7,500 feet above sea level, only 41 miles from the pigeons who started it all.  It truly is coffee with altitude.

Pigeon Expresso™ is roasted using a distinctive organic roaster certified by the Organic Crop Improvement Association.  This means our coffee is grown, harvested, milled and roasted free from chemicals and pesticides. This is a fairly traded coffee.  Fair trade coffee helps to ensure a livable wage to coffee farmers and producers in third World countries. We buy organic so you can enjoy organic.
